Find this annoying error after upgrading Microsoft Access and trying to access a shared database?
Microsoft Access cannot open this file. This file is located outside your intranet or on an untrusted site. Microsoft Access will not open the file due to potential security problems. To open the file, copy it to your machine or an accessible network location.
There is a simple solution. In Internet Explorer, under the Tools menu go to Internet Options and then the Security tab. Click on Trusted sites, then click the Sites... button.
Uncheck the Require server verification (https:) and enter file://YOUR_SERVER_NAME with YOUR_SERVER_NAME being the server or workstation that the database is installed on then click the Add button and the OK button.
